Without an understanding of the big picture and how to view accent learning, learning an accent or even evaluating your own accent can be difficulty, at best. There are fundamental building blocks and prerequisites to understand how speech production and sound work before you can learn a new way of speaking.

Many times, clients approach learning an accent with the individual sounds but don't have a greater appreciation for HOW they can change their mouth shape to alter their speech sounds. Without a strong understanding of the basic skills, consistent and reliable changes can be hard to master and further frustrate clients along their journey of self-improvement.
