I made a BIG mistake when I started my business. I didn't think about an email list for at least the first year and even when I finally did, I didn't really think about who I was adding to it, and I ended up with a big list of the wrong people. For a long time I relied solely on LinkedIn and networking for getting leads, and whilst LinkedIn in particular was a great source of business, it was the combination of LinkedIn and email that created the real magic.
