I think

You can build trust 

in first giving trust, 

but it's also to be honest. 

Be yourself 

and by being yourself, 

you are building a bond between you and the other person, and that will take time. 

Let's not go into all the artificial stuff, 

be yourself and be open and honest. 

That's it. I think that helps you to build trust.
