Websites and apps. Who’d have thought that in this day and age that these would be the tools to help you meet that significant other? Over the past couple of years, as online dating has grown in popularity, it’s grown in a lot of other ways too. The apps we use have changed, the way we communicate has changed, and the social norms have changed too. Technology moves fast and, as a result, so does the way we use it. If you’re single trying to online date, it can be hard to keep up at times. That’s why we went straight to the source and asked a man's perspective to give us some tips on dating and spill the beans on what they’re looking for.

When you’re looking for good dating advice it’s best to get a mix of opinions and perspectives. Sometimes you may go to your girlfriends, your mom, or you’ll search online to see what the "experts" say. While our male counterparts can confuse the heck out of us, sometimes they can be the best when it comes to dishing out dating advice.

First impressions are super important - That slightly faded sweater you consider lucky might want to stay at home when it comes to meeting your date for the first time. Show them that you care about yourself, take the time to have a shower, and put on something appealing. Get that date off to a good start, giving you one less thing to worry about.

Don't play games & be honest - We get it, we really do. You don't want to seem needy, clingy, desperate or overbearing. But hey, if you had a good date, you connected and felt like there is or could be something there, then just let them know. You could say - “this was great, would you be open to seeing each other again sometime?” It’s as easy as that. I know in films they always leave it a couple of days, some even say three days is the perfect window before contact… but then again this is real life.

We enter into dating thinking we are going to find that perfect mate, and sometimes we don’t consider a lot of factors when we begin to date someone. Some of these tips may help you make much better decisions when you decide to start dating.
