About the Guest: Mary Tomlinson was born in Concord, California, and grew up in a blissfully unaware state during her early years. Despite her parents' troubled relationship, she had no knowledge of the problems they faced. Attending a Catholic church, she lived a relatively peaceful childhood. However, as Mary entered her teenage years, she experienced a significant amount of trauma. Her mother left her father, leading to a series of dramatic events. Mary witnessed a car chase through their town and even a fist fight in the middle of an intersection. The most distressing moment came when her mother kidnapped her and took her across the country to Milwaukee. These tumultuous events shaped Mary's perspective on life and the importance of redemption. She realized that God can heal the wounds of the past and bring purpose to our lives. Reflecting on her life in 10-year increments, Mary's childhood innocence gave way to a period of trauma and uncertainty.
