What happens when you realize nobody's coming to save you? In this short solo ep I share how abandoning my ego and embracing a student mentality changed my life from one of excuses and self-pity to purpose and achievement.
For years, I waited in that metaphorical dark pit, expecting someone to physically appear and guide me toward success. My breakthrough came when I finally confronted my ego and asked the hard questions: "Why is your ego so high when you haven't proven you can win at life?" This painful self-reflection forced me to seek a new way to grow.
So I began looking for Mentors to guide me out of the "pit".
My mentors weren't individuals who knew I existed. They were authors, speakers, and thought leaders who shared their wisdom through books, YouTube videos, and seminars. By positioning myself as a perpetual student—someone willing to learn from any source without ego—I created exponential growth in every area of my life. This approach culminated in a recent milestone: delivering two keynote speeches at Southern Connecticut State University, a dream seven years in the making.
The beauty of this path lies in its accessibility. You don't need connections or money to access wisdom in today's world. You simply need curiosity, humility, and the willingness to implement what you learn consistently. Your dreams are too important to take to your grave, and by earning your 1% improvement each day while learning from diverse perspectives, you create a compound effect of growth that will eventually lead you to places you never thought possible.
Life change CAN begin by setting your ego aside and embracing the identity of a lifelong student.
