Shirley Chisholm was America's FIRST Black woman congressperson!  Shirley brought Black feminist politics to the national government, focusing on legislation that helped poor Black women (and as a result all poor people) including universal free childcare, housing, the minimum wage and more.  Our story focuses on Shirley's run for the Democrat party's presidential nomination in 1972.  We run into old friends, like Elaine Brown and the California Black Panther Party, and meet new friends like Barbara Lee and Sandra Gaines....Listen, learn then activate!
