Welcome to the 12th episode of my podcast!  It’s lovely to speak to you again. 

Today’s theme is ‘Why Every Artist Should Read Tonio Kröger?” Tonio Kröger is a novella about a solitary life of a poet.  It was written by the prestigious German writer, Thomas Mann, and was published in 1903.  I first read the Japanese translation of this story at the age of 14 – that’s the same age the protagonist, Tonio, is in the first chapter.
