Dr. Eric Tjonahen, MD is a Pediatrician practicing in the Boston area, and I am happy to have him as my guest on episode 7 of "GOING VIRAL: Staying Sane, Healthy & Connected during the Coronavirus Outbreak of 2020."

-->Eric Tjonahen, MD is a Pediatrican living with his family in the Greater Boston area. He talks about how his practice, Pediatric Associates of Norwood and Franklin, has made major changes in the way they see their young patients, reserving the mornings for newborns and infants, as well as more serious cases, and limits the numbers of patients and staff to keep a safe environment for everyone. He stresses the importance of staying home, keeping faces covered with masks and washing hands, as it is vital we keep social distancing to avoid the spread of COVID-19. Until mass testing of the public can become available, he explains that we really can't go "back to normal" or else the disease will continue to spread. We discuss how to keep an eye on the mental health of our children and family members, as this is a very stressful and scary time for everyone. He says it's important we really take the time to talk to our children about what is happening in an open and honest way, about why we have to quarantine and social distance, so that we can keep them safe and healthy.
