Hey there, lovely work-from-home moms! It’s time for another heart-to-heart episode of the Work from Home Lifestylist podcast, where we dive into the joys and challenges of juggling motherhood and career from the comfort of our own homes. I’m your host, Christina M. Hooper, and I’m thrilled to have this conversation with you today.

Let’s jump right into one of the biggest hurdles we face on this journey—the constant guilt that often creeps in. We know it all too well, don’t we? The guilt about not spending enough quality time with our children, the guilt about not being able to give 100% to our work, and even the guilt about taking a moment for ourselves. It’s a tough balance, and it’s okay to admit that it’s not always easy.

As work-from-home moms, we have this innate desire to give our children the world. We want to be there for every milestone, every laughter, and every tear. But the reality is, our work demands our attention too. Balancing both can be incredibly challenging, and it’s essential to recognize that we’re not superhuman. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed and acknowledge that sometimes it’s tough to strike the perfect balance.

Now, let’s dive deeper into the different forms this guilt takes. Maybe you find yourself feeling guilty about not spending enough quality time with your children because work deadlines are looming. Or perhaps you beat yourself up for not being able to give 100% to your careers while simultaneously caring for your little ones. And let’s not forget about the guilt that washes over us when we dare to take a moment for ourselves, as if self-care is a luxury we can’t afford.

But here’s what I want you to know, my dear work-from-home moms: it’s okay. It’s okay to feel the weight of these emotions because it’s a testament to the love and dedication we have for our families and our work. Instead of beating ourselves up, let’s shift our perspective and give ourselves permission to be imperfect.

Here are some things I want you to remember when you feel overwhelmed, exhausted, or even guilty:

Embrace Imperfection: Remember that perfection doesn’t exist, and that’s okay. Give yourself permission to be imperfect and understand that you’re doing the best you can in both your role as a mom and as a professional.

Prioritize Quality Time

Instead of focusing on the quantity of time you spend with your children, prioritize quality time. Make the moments count by being present and fully engaged. Set aside dedicated blocks of time for focused interactions and create memories that matter.

Set Realistic Expectations

Understand that you can’t do it all, and that’s perfectly fine. Set realistic expectations for yourself and let go of the idea of being supermom. Recognize that it’s okay to ask for help and delegate tasks when needed.

Practice Self-Care

Taking care of yourself is essential for your overall well-being. Prioritize self-care activities that recharge and rejuvenate you. Whether it’s a bubble bath, a walk in nature, or indulging in your favorite hobby, make self-care a non-negotiable part of your routine.

Celebrate Your Wins

Instead of dwelling on what you couldn’t accomplish, celebrate your wins, no matter how small they may seem. Recognize and acknowledge the progress you’ve made, both personally and professionally. Give yourself credit for the incredible juggling act you’re managing.

Seek Support

Surround yourself with a supportive community of fellow work-from-home moms who understand the unique challenges you face. Connect with like-minded individuals who can provide encouragement, share insights, and offer practical advice.

Remember, self-guilt is a common emotion experienced by many work-from-home moms. By implementing these strategies, you can gradually overcome self-guilt and find more joy and fulfillment in both your role as a mom and as a professional.

Now, I have something incredibly exciting to share with you. I’ll am hosting a free webinar called “Break Free from the Time for Money Trap.” It’s an opportunity for us to dive even deeper into the strategies and secrets that can help you create a thriving online business while still being present for your family. I’ll be sharing a new way of prioritize things in your business and even creating passive-income so you can start getting your time back.

So, my fellow work-from-home moms, stay tuned for more details on the webinar and how you can secure your spot. I promise it’ll be a game-changer for you. Together, let’s navigate this challenging terrain and redefine what success looks like for us. Remember, you are an incredible mom and a rockstar professional. You’ve got this!
