Friday, March 14, 1947 O’Connell meets fellow American Dick Marlowe in Monte Carlo. When Marlowe asks O’Connell to help him meet the beautiful Hungarian, Carla Lux, O’Connell has lands him a job playing piano at a party that Carla will be attending. It’s love at first sight, but when O’Connell is called to meet with what turns out to be members of the German Reich, including Carla’s fiance, Baron X, threats are made which lead to a race from the country for the Americans.
