Teacher retention has become a very important topic in education today.  Hiring, supporting, training, and retaining high quality teachers is paramount as we are experiencing a larger percentage of teachers retiring and or leaving the profession. In this episode, Shelly Parks, the 2019 Missouri Teacher of the Year, discusses five key areas related to teacher retention: Pandemic struggles that create educational challenges, need for local, state, and national action to retain classroom teachers, retention and the important link to families and communities, and why  teachers remaining in the classroom.
