You may not think of it as a “Disney” film but 1980’s POPEYE starring Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall was in fact produced by Disney along with Paramount and Richard Evans Productions. The film has earned a cult status since it’s release nearly 40 years ago despite it being a financial success. The reviews from critics and audiences alike were all over the place and leaning more heavily in the negative. What about it though? Has time shown it for what it really is one way or another?
