Jamie is autogynephilic. He is also married and has a son. After a series of repression cycles, he realized that his femininity needed greater expression if he was to remain sane. He is currently trying to figure out the best way forward as he navigates the tension between internal and external pressures. Although he doesn't want to create a 'trans widow' situation, he also doesn't want to recreate the simmering discontent he saw in his father (whom he strongly suspects was autogynephilic).
