A quiet ranch owner named Jim Stanley is accused of getting drunk and causing a disturbance at a saloon, where he allegedly threw a whiskey bottle and poker chips. As Matt Dillon investigates, he discovers that the saloon owner's accusations don't seem to add up. Dillon digs deeper and finds conflicting motives and evidence that suggest Stanley may not be the real culprit.
