Welcome to Christ Talk Canada, where we explore God's Word and apply it to our lives. I'm your host, Pastor Michael, and today's episode is about how obedience to the Lord is more important to Him than sacrifice.

Message:

We can find this message throughout the Bible, from the Old Testament to the New Testament. But let's start with 1 Samuel 15:22, where Samuel said to Saul, "Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams."

This passage is a reminder to us that God desires obedience more than sacrifice. In fact, obedience is a form of sacrifice, as it requires us to lay down our own will and desires in order to follow God's will. When we obey the Lord, we show our love for Him. Jesus said in John 14:15, "If you love Me, keep My commandments." And in 1 John 5:3, it says, "For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome."
