We need a vision for education that isn’t burdened by the innovations of past decades/centuries. And it needs to work with real students, not just on paper. Frankly, such a vision can only be born in a classroom, through lots of experimentation and with real student feedback.
Edtech companies want to appeal to thousands of teachers today. They are going to mold themselves to the existing system. Politicians think they are helping by adding new requirements and testing and mandates and more and more and more (it doesn’t help, it actually hurts).
I’m set on trying to show what is possible in a classroom. Starting year 6 soon – lots of new things getting developed!
