Huntsman Hill: A Music Retrospective

EP206: The 27 Club

Listen Later

On July 3, 1969 Brian Jones of the Rolling Stones drown to death.  Two years later to the day on July 3, 1971 Jim Morrison was found dead in a Paris hotel room and in between both Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin would also meet tragic fates.  The four were each only 27 years old and their deaths would unwittingly form an infamous club whose membership, primarily among musicians  would mysteriously grow over the years as Chris Bell of Big Star, D Boon of the Minutemen, Kurt Cobain. Amy Winehouse and many others would join its growing ranks.  We discuss the phenomenon and dig deep into its luminaries that have had a specific impact on us.     Bob Nalbandian Go Fund Me https://www.gofundme.com/f/bob-nalbandian?utm_medium=email&utm_source=product&utm_campaign=p_email_m_pd-5332-donation-receipt-adyen&utm_content=internal   RIP Bob Nalbandian   huntsmanhill.com [email protected] instagram.com/huntsmanhill https://twitter.com/HuntsmanHill Spotify Playlist:  https://open.spotify.com/user/1298220429/playlist/4gy1wWwypkoFS2lUztvZ44?si=waSq07DBQlq3x9G1_nK0pg   HHPP Amazon Affiliates Store https://huntsmanhill.com/2022/06/09/hhpp-store/   Our Music manhuntsman:  https://open.spotify.com/artist/7tFBWn0UFkdOEMf67TRD6W?si=vzllkbDwSEmfZFlj02GLRw Academy O.C:  https://academyoc.bandcamp.com/album/academy-o-c   Omertà 68:  https://open.spotify.com/artist/6dfiCa0qTlbPQUrqtIkStS?si=6SCjNtXbSO2xRBDuBKJelQ
