Amelia McLoughlan, Network Director of Disabled Students UK talks about disability, disabled students and the impact of the pandemic on how disabled people are seen and how we can change that narrative.
Disabled Students UK is a voluntary disabled student-led organisation who envision a world where disabled students have the same access to education as non-disabled students. They work collectively to make universities truly accountable to their disabled student and disability law.
Amelia works as Network Director co-ordinating and faciliating spaces for disabled students, disabled students officers and activists in order to raise their collective voices. She holds a anthropology degree and postgraduate diploma in palaeopathology from Durham University, and was formerly Welfare & Liberation Officer at Durham SU (2019/20).
