Dr. Dweck spent her career studying attitude and performance, and her book shows that your attitude is a better forecast your success than your IQ. She also found that peopleβs core attitudes fall into one of two categories: a fixed mindset or a growth mindset.
π¨βπ π©βπ People with a FIXED MINDSET, believe they are exactly who they are and won't change. This problem creates a challenge because anything that appears to be more than they can handle is bound to make them despair, thus overburden their own minds and those of others.
π¨βπ π©βπ People with a GROWTH MINDSET believe efforts can improve their lives. They outdo fix minded individuals, even if they are of a lower IQ, because they see new opportunities as a way to learn something new. Β
