Brian and Joe had the privilege of having Harry Moffitt (aka Moff) on the Podcast - An extremely humble and funny character.
Harry is a former Australian SAS Team Commander with approx 30+years Special Forces experience. During and post his exemplary service, Harry has gone on to become an Author - Psychologist - Business Owner & Leader working with some of the most elite minds and organisations around the world.
He has always had a passion for music and is quite a talented and accomplished musician himself. He has always been able to build and maintain positive relationships with people from all walks of life and he's a pretty good mate to have around when things are not going so great.
Trusted and respected by ALL who know him, they'll tell you he's just a Bloody Good Bloke.
Above all of this, he is a loving Husband and Father. We take this opportunity to acknowledge both Harry and especially his Sweetheart who kindly and graciously allowed us to spend some time with her husband on their 26th Wedding anniversary. THANK YOU & CONGRATULATIONS to you both!
Ladies and Gentlemen the one and Only - Harry Moffitt.
During this conversation we cover alot of ground yet we don't even scratch the surface. Harry talks about some of the operational perspectives but not in the way you might expect. It's not about trying to tell war stories - He doesn't need to try, he's lived them. But what he does share may resonate with those who have served or who aspire to serve. Who knows, it may resonate or surprise those who haven't served in these types of environments. Eye opening - would be an understatement.
Harry speaks to topics such as: The humanity of operational service - Three blocks - how excellent communication builds trust - Cutting yourself some slack - The Commentator in your head - It's ok to be vulnerable - The need to have a plan B - Transitioning to civilian life - The importance of keeping a journal - Relationships, Resetting & Rituals - What it takes to serve in the Special Forces - Plus so much more....
It's no wonder Harry served in the unit and the ADF for as long as he did - No one, and no organisation would want to lose an asset like Harry. But if you ask him, he'll graciously and humbly tell you that they couldn't wait to get rid of him. Such is his great sense of humour.
We hope you enjoy this episode and gain some useful tips and tools to help you wherever you're at right now and with whatever you aspire to do going forward.
