EP3: a conversation with Clayton Anderson (recorded in 2023). Originally from Indiana, Clayton was ready to walk away from the music game when in 2008 he won the KENNY CHESNEY battle of the bands competition. From there he moved to Nashville where he put out a string of albums starting with Torn Jeans and Tailgates. He recently released an album called MADE IN THE USA - with songs like “INDIANA,” Made in the USA,” and “LET ME GO” (which is my person favorite). This gentleman has opened for Eric Church, Blake Shelton, Jason Aldean, Jimmy Buffet. He’s been influenced by legendary artists like John Mellencamp.
In this episode, we cover several topics including the experience of making the music video for “Let Me Go.” We also discuss the symbolism of the rose, the feather and the skull. We wrap up the conversation talking about the incredibly moving song “The World Will Know” which Clayton co-wrote for refugees in war torn countries. We’ll hear a portion of that song at the end of this episode.
ROSE FEATHER SKULL is hosted by Tim Cofield
