In March of 1996, Karina Holmer moved to the U.S. and became an au pair for a family in Dover, Massachusetts. Her new job seemed to be going well but she soon wrote home expressing that she would be returning to Sweden while mysteriously hinting at troubling news. On June 21, Karina went missing from a local nightclub, and on the 23rd, her body was discovered in a dumpster not far from where she was last seen.
