How do you know what you don't know? This isn't a trick question and it stems from something a previous CEO said to me.

Many of the people that I speak to simply have no idea where or how to start looking out for the things that might have an impact on their work and life in the future. In this episode, Martin Lucas asks me about the source of the above question and we go on to discuss who in the organisation should be "scanning the horizon", where (as a minimum) they should be scanning and what they should be doing with the information they find.
