On July 4, 2019, our beautiful daugther Allora was born. She was born in the morning at home in our bed. A few years prior to getting pregnant, I came across some documantires that showcased the disparaging mortality rates amongst black women giving birth in the Unites States. It is a fact that black women are dying everyday in hospitals from giving birth. The number one reason for this is implicit bias from the medical practitioners, who simply do not believe black women when they voclaize that something is wrong and pure medical negligence. I encorage all women, moreoverly black women, to consider home birth to protect and save their lives. Listen now to our experience.
