Vincent and Robert discussed the meanings of fusion, progressive, and classic rock genres, with vincent questioning the categorization of Sebastian Hardy as fusion rock. Boundy identified progressive rock as a genre that embraces jazz elements and has a strict structure. They also explored the origins of classic rock, with vincent defining it as straight out rhythm and blues rock, while Boundy considered bands like Virgin Soldiers and Phil Manning as classic rock. Later, they debated the classification of Judas Priest's early work, with vincent arguing it's classic rock, and Rob considering it on the edge of metal. They also discussed the lack of representation and transparency in government support for indie artists in Australia, with vincent expressing frustration and rob highlighting the confusion and lack of transparency in the distribution of funds. Vincent and Rob decided to chat away one day about the music business in their territory and from that discussion came the idea to create a podcast about our knowledge base. Vincent from the business side of things and Rob from the education side. Vincent has a 35 year history in entertainment, and Rob has just completed his Phd in Music at the University of Adelaide.
