EP36 - I Am a Fraud - Imposter Syndrome

Listen Later

Have you ever found yourself feeling pressure: To be perfect, in spite of knowing your many flaws? To appear highly intelligent, though you are filled with questions and uncertainty? To be confident and poised, despite feeling insecure or anxious?  To achieve success without any help from others, even though you know you need help? To be able to give without faltering, despite being completely depleted and worn out? To be someone you are not, because if others knew the truth about you, they would think you are a fraud and think less of you?

Join us as we unpack imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is that deep feeling that we are not enough, whether it is with parenting or at our job or in our social circle, leading us to wear a mask of excellence and avoid authenticity at fear of rejection or judgement. This may be us frantically cleaning our house before even our closest friends arrive to avoid them seeing how messy your home actually is, to us never sharing our struggles to appear put together at every moment. However it shows up for you, feeling like an imposter can be exhausting, isolating, and hurtful to our core. Let us offer insights of how imposter syndrome can show up, the impact it can have, and ways to overcome it!

If you find this episode, or any of our other episodes, helpful to you, please share with those that you love! Let us know what you think about what you want us to talk about next by emailing us at [email protected]
