This week Sharron Lovell speaks with Sim Chi Yin about crossing the lines between journalism and advocacy. She recently published her self-funded project on a gold miner in international and Chinese publications, and has been very focused on not just documenting the issue as a photographer, but also having a concrete plan to create real impact and to bring change by engaging with her audience and working with NGOs.
