Having worked as a barista and manager in speciality coffee, Phil discovered that there is so much to learn about coffee. He is now studying a Masters in Economic and Social History in Cambridge. His research based around coffee - looking at the origins and development of the coffee industry in Colonial Kenya. We chat more about this and look at why Africans were excluded, what it meant for those Africans who would later become coffee growers and what the long lasting affects of that could mean for the industry now.
