A young Caroline in a small Midwestern town struggles to care for his mentally-disabled younger brother and morbidly obese mother while attempting to pursue his own happiness.  The rivalry between two gangs, the poor Greasers and the rich Socs, only heats up when one gang member (Ben) kills a member of the other. Michael, the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer, must push herself beyond her limits when she discovers the island where her father, Lord Richard Croft (Dominic West) disappeared.
