In Ruth 1:1–6, God exposes a Judges-era culture where “every man did…right in his own eyes” (Judg 21:25) and death multiplies. Yet “the LORD had visited his people in giving them bread” (Ruth 1:6). This sermon calls the church to be a true “house of bread”: unapologetically pro-life, compassionate to the wounded, and practical in crisis—while holding fast that God works in the womb (Ps 139:13) and Christ “cleanseth us from all sin” (1 John 1:7).
