This week’s Empower Your Pelvis Podcast, Dr. Amanda Fisher goes solo to interview Dr. Heather Evans, PT, DPT. Heather is a pelvic floor physical therapist at Empower Your Pelvis. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas in 2003 and continued her career as a Jayhawk, completing her master's in physical therapy in 2005 followed by a transitional doctorate in 2013. She has been a physical therapist since 2005 and a pelvic floor specialist since 2008. Her passion is helping men and women with pelvic floor dysfunction – incontinence, pelvic pain, abdominal pain, pregnancy, post-partum, interstitial cystitis, endometriosis, painful intercourse, constipation and more.
In this episode, Amanda and Heather will be talking about the role of physical therapy in fertility treatment, as well as some ideas for how you can get started with a PT-based exercise program if you're trying to get pregnant. They will also talk about how physical therapists can provide evaluation, treatment, and supportive information for women and couples experiencing infertility.
