What is culture shock?
Moving to a new country / city often means getting exposed to new habits or lifestyles that could be vastly different to what we are used to. As Malaysians who have lived/are living in the UK for a significant amount of time, we have taken some time to get used to some of the UK nuances such as the "Yes Please"s and "Thanks You"s, constant discussion about the weather (hey, weather depression is a real thing, believe it or not), initial shock towards self-tanning products, and the most difficult of all, navigating the British humour.
If you've lived abroad in the UK or anywhere else, what were the things you found odd and how have you dealt with them? Make yourself a cuppa tea and join us in this episode as we talk about the things and habits that we found to be simply different while living abroad as well as things that we have grown to love and subsequently picked up! We share our experiences of how we adapted to a different way of living whilst trying to stay true to our own culture and identity.
