Relationships Inside Out

EP51 - Tackling Tit for Tat in Relationships

Listen Later

Tit for tat: keeping score in a relationship. Tit for tat can be engrained in our mind and our interactions with our partner. Tit for tat holds the risk of building resentment, fostering defensiveness, and harboring anger for our partner. It does not allow for the natural ebb and flow of the give and take in relationships, stifling growth in relationships and preventing compassion and validation for one another.

Join us as we illuminate how tit for tat can show up in our relationship, as well as why it is an important pattern to eliminate and how to do this. When we can eradicate tit for tat in our relationships, we learn how to work as a team and lead with compassion and emotional attunement over judgment, criticism, and contempt. You don’t want to miss this one!
