The pop culture world was set on fire during the 2022 Oscar ceremony when Will Smith marched on stage and slapped award presenter Chris Rock over an insensitive joke about Jada Pinkett Smith's hair. Social media feeds and news sites filled instantly with takes and reactions to the "slap heard around the world." The world was instantly divided into two camps all pretty much depending on how you viewed Jada's offense to the off-color joke. In this episode, we discuss the foundational concept of our identity in Christ and how it can dramatically change the way Christians experience and respond to insults or insensitive jokes when they are hurled our way. We live in a softening world where everyone's well-being is a by-product of the actions of those around us. Christians have a power that can radically strengthen us regardless of what others are doing around us. Tune in and enjoy!!
