With so much injustice in the world, coupled with the prevalence of crime and the ascendancy of war, how can we really speak of a God who is just and fair? Why do we suffer what feels like meaningless tragedy and pain? Why can’t God just do something to lessen its intensity or dominance?
Fairness is a complex issue. Asking how we might define ‘fair’, and whether it looks the same to God as it does to us, is just some of the difficulties the Curious team will be looking into. Taking their lead from the parables of the Workers in the Vineyard (Matt.20:1-16), and the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32); the team will reflect on the delicate and often controversial understanding of fairness .
