Why are Korean dramas and movies so much more popular globally than other East Asian dramas? Perhaps we're really good with the dystopian stuff (admittedly John and I did not give the romance k-dramas their due). Consider Squid Game, for example. What about Japanese Anime - these are clearly globally loved but John and I may have outgrown them. Tune in to hear two Koreans share their thoughts.
John is one of my best friends living in Korea. We met back in middle schools and have kept in touch ever since.
Don't forget to subscribe and/or follow me on Instagram or YouTube for more random thoughts, conversations, and experiences from a third culture kid that's finding his way around the world. A third culture kid is someone who grew up in a country that's different from the one his parents were raised in. I grew up in Brazil, raised in a Korean household, and was educated in an American school - all at once.
