Comparison is the thief of joy.
In this world of celebrities, social media, and “success”, it’s very easy for us to get caught up in the comparison game.
A game where we measure our own success, wealth, and happiness, based on how our lives appear compared to those around us.
As human beings I think it’s in our nature to compare ourselves.
I also don’t think this is inherently bad.
Comparison is one of the ways we learn from each other.
I might compare my results to yours, find that you’re doing better than me in some area, ask you how you do it, apply this new found knowledge, and make my life better too!
And that’s great! That’s exactly how we should aim to play the comparison game.
The problem occurs when these comparisons only serve to make us feel unworthy, unsuccessful, and unfulfilled.
In Ep56 I talk about how you can use this game to your advantage, and how you can avoid the downsides.
