Interview with Mona Rosa LA
Welcome to this episode! Grab your notebook for today’s episode and check read a bit about our guest!
“Mona Rosa is made up of two sisters, Maria & Fatima Jimenez who are floral artists, best friends & business partners from the San Fernando Valley & Los Angeles.
They operate out of Los Angeles, formerly known as Tongva Land, where the Tongva indigenous people still reside.
Mona Rosa was named after their mother, Ramona & grandmother, Maria Rosario. Both migrated here from Mexíco for the betterment of their family. They were taught the importance of respecting, protecting & caring for Mother Nature & passed this knowledge down.
The Jimenez sisters grew up surrounded by fruit trees, plants, herbs & flower gardens in their family homes. This sparked their passions & inspired the small business venture in 2019.
They believe in integrating their beliefs into their business. The sisters are social justice activists & volunteers for ‘Somos Familia Valle’ & ‘The Social Impact Center’ which are two LGBTQ non-profits that stand for the liberation of all QTPOC (Queer Trans People of Color) & other marginalized communities.
Mona Rosa offers dry & fresh floral services for all occasions, custom orders, events, & productions. They are known for their unique monthly zodiac bouquets. You can also catch them at a local pop in the LA area.”
