Growing up in Alaska, Thomas worked his way through the education system with the help of DVR counselors, teachers for the visually impaired, and the Alaska Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired.

Thomas found himself battling to stay afloat during his courses with  occupational therapist assistant school, however, with the help of mentors and leaders, along with his tenasity, he established employment and has been  maintaining steady work for almost 5 years.
