What’s all the fuss with the pelvic floor, and why is it so important in your life?
This week’s Empower Your Pelvis Podcast, Dr. Amanda Fisher did a crossover episode and was interviewed on the Forever Fit Podcast, hosted by Chelsea Muncy. Chelsea is the owner of a gym and PT clinic in Miamisburg, Ohio. She is also a pregnancy & postpartum athleticism coach, women’s health specialist, mom, and wife. Chelsea has a passion to empower women through health and wellness to become the best version of themselves. Chelsea and her husband have owned their gym in Miamisburg for twelve years and have added the PT side just about a year ago. Chelsea was tired of the traditional PT setting and wanted to start a clinic where she could treat the whole person without limitations from insurance. As a coach Chelsea teaches classes throughout the week, as well as treating patients in the clinic. In her free time she likes to spend it outdoors with her family and traveling. Chelsea not only teaches crossfit but also has an all women’s boot camp where she empowers women of all ages with more strength training type of work. One of her passions is to help women realize that strength training is good for them and can be done by anyone if they have the right coaching and guidance.
In this episode, Amanda and Chelsea go over a crash course on the pelvic floor, especially in women - what you need to know, how to know if it’s functioning properly, and how to strengthen it for a better pregnancy experience and a healthier life with your child.
