Ep63 - Gone Phishing

Listen Later

Phishing is a form of social engineering, where hackers try to trick you into revealing your personal or financial information, or installing malware on your device, by sending you fake emails, texts, or calls that look like they come from legitimate sources. For example, you might receive an email that claims to be from your bank, asking you to verify your account details or click on a link to update your security settings. Or you might get a text message that says you've won a prize, and you need to call a number or visit a website to claim it. Or you might get a call from someone who pretends to be from tech support, and asks you to give them remote access to your computer.
These are all examples of phishing attacks, and they can have serious consequences if you fall for them. You could lose money, compromise your identity, damage your device, or expose your personal or professional data to hackers. That's why it's important to know how to detect and avoid phishing attacks.
