The Mental Mom Show

Ep.66 “Catfished” from the Coma Files

Listen Later

Meg shares her excitement about watching the Saved by the Bell Reboot coming out this month on Peacock - she dishes on why Screech won’t be joining the rest of the cast. And, wait a minute: who knew Lifetime made so many “Unauthorized” movies about all of our favorite adolescent shows like Full House and 90210? Not Meg! Because they all come out during her coma (between 2010-2015 while raising mini-humans and battling major depression and anxiety.)  In other coma news, Meg and Casey discuss the 2010 documentary “Catfish” and share what the concept means in relation to the online dating scene. It’s another pop-culture term Meg missed along the way. Casey takes the Mental Mom Moment this week and explains his harsh (but appropriate) reaction to the 7 year old telling him to “shush.” Meg works on a genuine apology to Casey after he lets her know that it hurts his feelings that she isn’t more supportive about his love of telling her all about the new space science documentaries he’s watching. Casey says, “you get all excited and care about what the girls are learning in school - but you don’t have energy to hear what I’m learning?” He explains why this isn’t nice and it’s unfair. Meg and Casey work through this spat in their usual highly-evolved communication style (lots of laughter and a splash of passive aggression.) Meg asks Casey to stop assaulting her with intense information from the internet past 10 p.m. during “wind down time.”

Enjoy!
