Dr. James Minor was told by his Detroit public school high school counselor, that he should, “go into the trades,” “he did not have the scholastic ability to go to a four-year university.”
Now as the first black President of Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville, he looks back over his journey to tell his story. He shares his ability to overcome the obstacles in life and rise above others expectation of you.
