In this episode we talk about how we sometimes put barriers to feeling JOY. They can be either intentional or unintentional. One emotion that is often a barrier to joy is Fear. Fear can hold us back from experiencing incredible new things that could, and do bring JOY! We touched on:1) How often we create rules or scenarios around why we can NOT feel joy. Or can not do things that are just for us. Often, for Moms, there is guilt around wanting to do things for ourselves.
2) We have learned from those who went before us, and our children will learn from us. So modeling how to take good care of ourselves, and our emotions teaches our children how to do that for themselves as well. When we fill our cups first, then we can pour into others from our overflow
3) Fear can be a huge barrier to joy, but we need to remember that on the other side of fear, is usually really, really good things. Doing things that are outside our comfort zone, help us to grow, and change. Where does fear show up in your life?4) Humans need connection. We are supposed to be in groups together. We are powerful together. And at times we hold ourselves back, and have forgotten how to be humans in community, and how good it feels.
