This interview was planned almost two years ago, but on my way to Toronto to chat with Max Meighen of Serviette Magazine, my engine blew, and I was forced to cancel.
Not a great first impression…
Thankfully, he said yes to a “re-do”, allowing me to sneak one last, and long overdue interview before the year rolled over.

“The eyes eat first”
Serviette is a delicious publication. Full of images that move you and make one wanna jump in and partake. Yes, it has a beautiful face, but it has a brain and soul that grabs the reader and makes them go deeper.
Within its pages is a noble effort to look at food beyond the many trends, enjoyment and consumption. The magazine is as cerebral, as it is delicious.
Max has built something special with this periodical, and in time, it may become his greatest work. He’s at the beginning of his publishing efforts, but I expect big things for him and Serviette.
This is a magazine that you can safely judge by its stunning covers, as it is beautiful inside and out.
