How can we design technological systems that take into account the actual needs of communities? Can we avoid surveillance and the deterioration of our social fabrics because of our technologies?
In this episode, Marysol Ortega and Sofía Bosch talk with Lilly Irani –Associate Professor at UC San Diego and ethnographer of work– about bringing a social justice and activist lens into the work of designers and technologists. Lilly's inisights demonstrate we are far from from actually practicing our disciplines ethically and leaves room for reflection: as designers, what is the impact we want our work to have in our communities?
