Sergei Prokofiev is a composer who lived quite a life, as a Russian living in a tumultuous time—the time of the Russian Revolution. Due to this, he was quite well-traveled, and his work as a composer took him to places around the world.  In each place, his career would take great strides as he took on commissions for new works and collaborated with other creative visionaries to create a fantastic musical experience. And in 1930 to 1931, he crafted his Six Pieces for Piano, Op. 52, which is a representation of his many accomplishments as a composer.
