By many people’s estimation, including Adam Yauch, Henry Rollins, Ian MacKaye and John Joseph, Bad Brains are the most important Hardcore band of all-time. From early on they had incorporated elements of Jazz, Funk and of course Reggae into their music but it wasn’t until their third album, 1986’s I Against I that they began adding melody, complex song structures and hard rock/metal influences to the mix, all of which would become key elements in their remaining output. We have very fond memories of this one and are joined by our pals Glenn Polanco and Patrick Sweeney to discuss the lasting legacy it’s had on our lives.
