What is the purpose of education? What is the difference between Vietnamese and international education, apart from the massive difference in tuition? Do we really use all the knowledge and skills learnt in primary, secondary and high school? What are the true 'costs' of Vietnamese education? In this episode, we explored the education journey between ourselves, comparing the lessons learnt in Vietnam versus that from other developed countries, namely Singapore and the UK. All of this will be considered with the backdrop of Asian expectations, including the pressure for kids to perform extremely well in grades. We will dig deep to explore why there are such Asian expectations in the first place, and whether it is necessary for kids to have best grades in order to 'succeed' in life.
